LOBBY HERO: Natural light and natural bout-it-ness coming together like * chef’s kiss *

1. Dope Vitals: Jane of all trades in the acting world. Actor, coach, playwright, producer, director. Sarah Lawrence graduate. Currently living in the smallest town in our Little Rhody. Coming out of a social media hibernation to continue my pro-black, anti-racist work!

2. Dopest Thing Done: Learning to surf in Hawaii was pretty dope.

3. Dopest Thing to Do: I am going to take over the world in my own way and make it a better place.

4. Dope Fact about Alexis: I feel like everything I do is random. I am also afraid of ladybugs. Also in the fifth grade when we had to do our leader project, I chose Malcolm X...the teacher was not too pleased. I did it anyway, including a raggedy-ass portrait I tried to make of him in color pencil surrounded by my favorite quotes of his (I have no visual art skills). I'm so sorry Malcolm. I do love you. R.I.P.

5. A Dope Life that Inspires Alexis: My heroes are my mama: Felicia, my little sister: Neema, Anna Devere Smith, Angela Davis, Eartha Kitt, my cousin Brandi. ALL STRONG BLACK WOMEN. I am most inspired by women who make a space for themselves and rise above all else. I am inspired by folks in general who create new art forms or mix different mediums. I also really believe Malcolm was right in saying the most disrespected person in America is the black woman. I am surrounded by black women who are exceptional despite the odds.

6. Where You Can Catch Alexis Being Dope: My website: www.alexisingram.com (you can watch my one woman show m(y)o͝oˈlädō here: http://www.alexisingram.com/mulatto. My IG @alexisingstagram. My actor page on FB: https://www.facebook.com/alexismariahingram. I am hoping to, by July, show part of my next one-woman show in(fer)UTILITY sponsored by RISCA (Rhode Island State Council on the Arts). It's about the IVF/egg donor world and how people are related (and much more).

Alexis’s Key/s to Living a Dope and Doing Dope Things

Be kind. Speak up for those who need it. Don't be afraid. Take chances. Apologize when you are wrong. Take time to take care of yourself.
